This gorgeous shade of blue works in a wide variety of spaces as

as a result of it’s blue ocean-like tones.
What’s unique about this Chinese Porcelain Colour?
Johnstone’s have chosen a unique shade of blue, slightly lighter
than the commonplace navy blue colours which we are used to which blends the
cobalt shade with an inkier blue, bringing a balance of darker navy blue shades
and lighter pale blue shades into a perfect middle ground.

How are Johnstone’s Colour of the Year Colours chosen?
A very detailed process goes into choosing Johnstone’s Colour of
the Year which usually begins with PPG Global Colour Workshop in which over 20
PPG global colour stylists from a variety of industries such as automotive,
aerospace and architectural come together.
These colour specialists combine their colour insights together to
determine which colours will resonate with the public, working to forecast which
colours will be a popular colour in the upcoming year.
What colours would this colour work with the best?
This bold and beautiful colour would work fantastically as a
feature wall in a room, combined with a cold white colour, such as our colour
match equivalent of Johnstone’s Voice of Colour Willow Springs PPG1007-1 or
even Candle Shop PPG1002-1.
These two off-white colours would work to not only keep light in
the room which Chinese Porcelain PPG1160-6 is featured in, or it can also help
to balance out the richness of this colour too.
However, if you’re after a less bright and stark colour for Chinese
Porcelain PPG1160-6 to work with, a light grey would make a great colour to
combine this colour with.
Something like Dawn Swim PPG1001-3 would be great as it is a
light grey which is not too rich in colour, meaning that it will not detract
from the richness of Chinese Porcelain PPG1160-6.
How can I use Chinese Porcelain PPG1160-6 in my home?
As Chinese Porcelain PPG1160-6 is such a rich and bold colour,
this gorgeous blue shade is perfect for creating a traditional blue hue as a
feature wall, or even as a bold skirting board look or even for upcycling furniture
for a feature piece in your spaces.
Chinese Porcelain PPG1160-6 needs a sharp contrast- as detailed
above- in order for the colour to stand out and not blend in with other blue
tones.
The best way to do this is to combine it with a bright and colder white
colour which will allow Chinese Porcelain PPG1160-6 to stand out from any other
colours in the room and work as a bold and brilliant feature for the room space.
This will help the rooms to be balanced with their colour whilst retaining a
unique and individual boldness as a result of having Chinese Porcelain
PPG1160-6 as a feature.
