How do I style Dusky Pinks in my Home?
With so many different shades of dusky pink available, there will always be a shade which is perfect for you!
From fuchsia to lilac, you can style your home in a wide variety of ways, changing the atmosphere and tone of the room simply by changing the tone of pink you decide to style it with.
As a result, pink should not be a shade which should be confined to little girls’ rooms, and it is certainly not a colour to be solely used by women either!
In recent years, the term ‘Millennial Pink’ has made a resurgence, it is a beautiful shade of dusky blush pink which works with so many other tones.
Before you read the rest of the blog, check out the video below!
One of the many great things about this wonderful shade of ink is that it contains beige undertones which works to remove the sickly shade of pink from the traditional ‘baby pink’.
This means that ‘Millennial Pink’ pushes the light baby pink tones into a more sophisticated territory, rather than one more synonymous with children and little girls.
This shade can be paired with a wide variety of colours, however it best works with greys and other neutral beige colours which work to highlight the tones within the shade, as well as compliment them at the same time.

Below is a list of our Top 11 Ways to Style Dusky Pink in your Home:
1.) Try Different Shades of Dusky Pink
Depending on how much pink you’re deciding to style your home with, different shades could work best in different rooms as a result of lighting, accessories, room shape and many other variables too.
Dusky pink doesn’t have to be a darker shade of pink, it can also be light and airy depending on the tone you are looking for.
If you would prefer a lighter, airier room, a lighter shade of pink would work to brighten, and even lengthen, the room.
Even if you don’t want pink to be the focus of the room, utilising soft pink hues within your room can add that extra little bit of pretty pink which can add a touch of elegance to the room.

2.) Test Out Pink by adding accent Cushions
If you’re someone who likes to try things out before you dive straight in, perhaps adding small items of Dusky Pink into your home will help you decide!
Certain pink elements such as cushions or other smaller accent features can help you decide what you would like, and whether that shade of pink would work in you room!
It doesn’t have to just be cushions either! You can add little pink highlights such as table cloths r other pieces to see how pink would work in you room!
They’re so easily changed too if you don’t like the colour or even the tone of pink!

3.) Try creating a Mood Board to test out different shades
Much like the point detailed above, it can be quite difficult making an informed decision on which tone of pink you would like to style your home with, or even whether you would like to style your home with the colour at all!
The best way to do this without purchasing expensive cushions, lampshades, paints etc. is to create a mood board.
This mood board can either be created digitally or even can be created manually using samples of various decorating items.
For some more ideas, check out the video below!
If you are making you mood board digitally, it is recommended that you make a small colour scheme for you to be able to match the imaged which you choose to collage together.
This can also be said for making mood boards manually too!
If you purchase a couple of paint tester pots and use those as a guide, you can then find wallpaper, carpet and other samples of materials and other decorating supplies to collage together and see how the entire scheme works as one piece.

4.) Combine Dusky Pink and a Monochrome Colour Scheme
Although you may be tempted to completely cover your room with Dusky Pink (I know I am!) but combining pink with other colours will work to break up the colour and create a balances and equalised space which highlights the colour much better.
One of the best colour schemes to combine dusky pink with is monochrome.
Although this may seem like a very odd combination, the black and white works to highlight the dusky off-pink colour which breaks up the boldness and eye-catching nature of monochrome.
This can be as bold or subtle as you wish. Whether you are simply adding black and white cushions to an otherwise all-pink room, or mere splashes of dusky pink into a predominantly monochrome room, this colour combination is certainly one to be tested out!

5.) Use Dusky Pink as a Backdrop to Shades of Grey
If monochrome isn’t the way forward for you, as a result of the dusky nature of the pink colour, greys can work very well with dusky pink colours.
Very much the ‘Millennial Pink’ colour scheme, the colder tones of the grey with the lighter tones of the pink can work to create a balanced and tonally beautiful colour scheme for almost any room in the home.
However, it is important that you balance these colours much like detailed in the point above. By balancing the grey and the pink colour, your room will work together as a whole.
If you’re unsure on how to balance these colours, go back to number 3 and make a mood board to help you out!

8.) Pairing Pink and Plum Together
If the dusky pink is a little but too bright and airy for you, an easy way to ground the colour scheme is by introducing a darker colour into the room.
One of the best darker shades to pair dusky pink with is plum. Not only does it highlight the grey undertones of the dusky pink colour but is also works with almost all shades of pink, meaning that it is a very versatile colour to work with!
Plum can be introduced as a full wall- perhaps a feature wall in comparison to the other dusky pink walls- or perhaps even in just smaller increments such as a simple throw or cushions.

9.) Clashing Pink Patterns!
If you have more of a bohemian style, you can even clash your pattern to create a quirky and unique space!
You can either contrast the wallpapers on the wall if you are bold and brave enough! Or you can have a test of combining contrasting patterns and contrast perhaps the bedding or a patterned throw with a feature wall of your choosing.
The best two clashing pink patterns to use are different sized florals which have a similar colour and placing them with a solid dusky pink next to them. This will then create a subtle clash of patterns rather than a significant and very bold clash.

10.) Adding Accent Green colours into the Pink Mix
If you have decided to go with a full pink room, a good way to break up the colour scheme is by adding green accents into the room.
Not only will this break up the pink colours, but it will also add that little bit of nature into the mix which will work to compliment the pink tones.
This can also be a useful accent colour if you love to have real florals in your home too as it can tie not only the décor, but the accessories into the space too!

This can be on the trim in your home! If everything else is painted a breezy and airy white colour, with only the dusky pink as trim it will transform the room!
This can be done with our Colour Match Paint for Woodwork and Trim!
